Detailed Description
This Ibach C116 Upright Piano was built in the early 1980’s in Germany, with an impressive cabinet finished in Polished Mahogany and including burr mahogany inlays.
Having been built in Germany, the internal part quality and level of craftsmanship matches that of the cabinetry. In spite of the piano’s compact size, therefore, it is a highly expressive instrument, with a wide dynamic range and broad range of colours. The bass is deep and rich, the middle section has a warm and singing quality, and the treble section is very clear and sparkling. The sound can be opened up even more effectively with the piano’s grand opening lid at the top, which is a rare feature in uprights generally.
The action is made by Renner, who produce actions for some of the most highly regarded piano brands, such as Steinway and Fazioli. It therefore has an immediate and responsive touch which offers very high levels of control.
Overall, it is a highly versatile instrument suitable for students and professionals. It has been maintained and tuned to the highest standards, and will give many more decades of good service in the future.
