Detailed Description
This Yamaha U1A was built in the late 1980’s during Yamaha’s Golden Age of piano building, when all of the manufacturing took place in Japan, and by the very best craftsmen. The materials used were of the highest quality, and so the pianos from this era are famed for being highly durable, retaining their quality for many decades.
This piano has been fully refurbished by Yamaha in Japan (the Yamaha Piano Service Corporation), and comes with a Yamaha Certificate of Authenticity.
This example has a full, velvety sound in the bass, a clear and singing middle section, and a brilliant clarity in the treble. The action is medium-light and quick, making all passage work really smooth and controlled.
This Yamaha U1A has been fitted with the adsilent system, which allows you to practice through headphones whilst retaining the natural hammer action. Other features include a recording function, and tone control, reverb, effect and transpose. It can also be controlled via a smartphone app. Overall, it is a highly versatile instrument suitable for students and professionals. It has been maintained and tuned to the highest standards, and will give many more decades of good service in the future. The cabinet has been fully repolished by Yamaha.
