Detailed Description
This Yamaha U2 was built in the late 1970’s, during Yamaha’s Golden Age of piano building, when all of the manufacturing took place in Japan and by the very best craftsmen. The materials used were of the highest quality, and so the pianos from this era are famed for being highly durable, retaining their quality for many decades.
Somewhat taller than the U1, this Yamaha U2 has a rich and warm bass and middle section, and a sweet and open sound in the treble section. It has very good balance across the range of the instrument, and an overall resonant sustain throughout. The action is medium-weight, and therefore gives you a lot of keyboard control during any kind of playing.
Overall, it is a highly versatile instrument suitable for students and professionals, and ideal for those who don’t want a piano that’s too large for their room, but offers a wider expressive range than the smaller U1, for instance. It has been maintained and tuned to the highest standards, and will give many more decades of good service in the future. The cabinet is in overall very good condition, for its age.
