This Yamaha U3 was built during Yamaha’s Golden Age of piano building, when all of the manufacturing took place in Japan, and by the very best craftsmen. The materials used were of the highest quality, and so the pianos from this era are famed for being highly durable, retaining their quality for many decades.
Being their tallest model, it has a deep and full bass sound, an open and sustained middle section, and bell-like clarity in the treble area. The action is medium light, making all passage work fluid and easy.
Overall, it is a highly versatile instrument suitable for students and professionals. It has been maintained and tuned to the highest standards, and will give many more decades of good service in the future. The cabinet is in overall very good condition, for its age.
