Detailed Description
This Yamaha U3H was built in the mid 1970’s, during Yamaha’s Golden Age of piano building, when all of the manufacturing took place in Japan, and by the very best craftsmen. The materials used were of the highest quality, and so the pianos from this era are famed for being highly durable, retaining their quality for many decades. This example includes a factory-fitted silent system which enables the player to practice through headphones whilst retaining the natural hammer action.
Being their tallest model, this U3H has a rich and powerful sound overall, with a full, deep bass, a clear and projected middle section, and a brilliant treble. The action is medium-heavy and quick, helping to make all passage work really smooth and easy.
Overall, it is a highly versatile instrument suitable for students and professionals. It has been maintained and tuned to the highest standards, and will give many more decades of good service in the future. The cabinet is in overall excellent condition, for its age.
