At Richard Lawson Pianos, we have over forty years of experience of supplying pianos to beginners and professionals alike. Our range of pianos is available to see in person at our showroom, based in Rickmansworth, or alternatively, you may like to browse the online selection. We offer world-class pianos, as well as technical understanding about piano refurbishment and set-up, and musical knowledge regarding both the sound and feel of pianos when playing them. Today we will tell you about the pianos in our Yamaha Disklavier series that we have for sale.
Yamaha Disklavier Series
The Disklavier is a real acoustic piano, which included electronic sensors to enable recording and electromechanical solenoids for player piano-style playback. These pianos are perfect for piano education, with the ability to listen back to what you have played, finding any weaknesses in timing, pressure, or continuity. At Richard Lawson Pianos, we regularly provide pianos to schools and local authorities, as well as independent piano tutors.
Yamaha G1 Disklavier
When you record and playback on the Yamaha G1 Disklavier, the keys and pedals move, as if by magic. This baby grand piano features 88 keys and 3 pedals, and it offers a clear sound, and powerful bass and bell, with precise and clean action. It includes the ability to practice at greatly reduced volumes with its practice rail. The control box is connected via cable and has the option to be located remotely. This is a great piano for beginners, as the price point is lower than other models.
Yamaha U3 Disklavier
The U3 Disklavier is an upright piano, and also benefits from the self-playing system. It features a MIDI in-and-out connection, so it can also be controlled via a computer for added flexibility. At the touch of a button, it can become fully silent, where the player can listen through headphones, and again features the key and pedal movement for playback. It features longer bass strings than baby grand pianos and is a model enjoyed by many professional musicians, spanning different genres.
Yamaha Disklavier Mark IV
Introduced in 2004, the Disklavier Mark IV model features a range of technical innovations that were built on the standard and PRO models. This includes gray scale hammer sensors, enabling a continuous monitoring of the position of each hammer. On its inception, it was the first time that the standard models were able to record the full spectrum of 127 values of the una corda and sustain pedals. In addition to this, it features a wireless controller, internal 80GB hard drive, and USB ports. The Ethernet port connecting it to the internet means it is also possible to receive streamed performances from DisklavierRadio™ and DisklavierTV™. Nowadays, it can also work with the Yamaha controller app. Some of the models we stock at Richard Lawson Pianos also have the silent system built in for you to enjoy your piano-playing without disturbing anyone else.
