Detailed Description
The smallest of Yamaha’s Grand Pianos, the GB1K is ideal for living spaces, and is a feasible alternative to an upright, particularly since its design is based on Yamaha’s industry-standard C Series Grands, and the instrument has been constructed without any compromises in terms of its craftsmanship. Despite this being Yamaha’s entry-level grand the GB1K has a soft-close fallboard, a feature normally only found on higher-end instruments.
This GB1K has been upgraded from its original Disklavier E3 System to the Disklavier Enspire System with the retrofitting of a DKC900 control unit.
Disklavier ENSPIRE
The state-of-the-art Disklavier ENSPIRE system transforms this instrument into a complete entertainment system that can be easily controlled using the ENSPIRE Controller app (Apple and Android). You can have the piano play from any of the 500 built-in songs, from the MusicSoft library of several thousand titles (purchasable), or the Disklavier Radio streaming service. In each of these cases the piano uses solenoids (electromagnets) which activate the hammers and pedals, and acoustically play specially pre-recorded performances, authentically reproducing ever tiny nuance of touch. You can even record yourself and hear the piano perform your own playing! In addition to this, this model includes the SH Silent System, which allows you to practice through headphones, without disturbing others, as well as MIDI connectivity, meaning that you can connect the piano to a computer and thus use it as a MIDI controller.
