Detailed Description
This Yamaha U1 UX1 was built in the late 1980’s, in Japan. It uses materials of the highest quality, and the pianos from this era are famed for being highly durable, retaining their quality for many decades.
This example has an open and clear sound across its range, with a real depth to the bass, a singing middle section, and a brilliance in the treble. The sound as a whole is further supported by its cross-braced frame, a feature that is no longer available with new Yamahas, due to its being so expensive to manufacture. The action is medium-heavy, and so offers a lot of control for all playing types.
The cabinet is in excellent condition, and is further distinguished by a vented front panel, which allows sound to come through this area and be more open and resonant as a result. Overall, it is a highly versatile instrument suitable for students and professionals. It has been maintained and tuned to the highest standards, and will give many more decades of good service in the future.
