Richard Lawson Pianos has a rich history within the music industry, and of course specifically pianos. We have over 40 years of expertise in the piano trade; meeting the needs of those who take a keen interest in music and piano-playing. One of the most popular piano brands, Yamaha, is stocked here at Richard Lawson Pianos, and we have a wide range of Yamaha Pianos to choose from.
Yamaha Upright Acoustic Pianos
Yamaha Pianos are suitable for every pianist, whether you’re an amateur or professional. Originating in Japan Yamaha has an extensive background in high-quality pianos providing the highest sound quality at an excellent value for money! The lifespan of the Yamaha Upright Acoustics range is 80 years and all feature a brilliant 5-year guarantee.
Most commonly, the Yamaha Upright Acoustic Pianos range differ in size and price with two of the best from the range being the Yamaha Upright Acoustic Pianos – U1 & U3.
Suited for both advanced and learning pianists, the Yamaha U1 and the Yamaha U3 are both examples that have very similar build and component quality. Similarly, the U1 and U3 have rich tones which are comparable, however, the U3 is taller in size and therefore has longer strings, creating a slightly richer tone.
Are you a person who is looking for a more consistent tone?
If so, the U1 is appropriate for you. Taking into account that the piano is not classified as “small” it is still regarded to be a great piano to play, tune and listen to.
What is your budget?
If you’re buying from Richard Lawson Pianos, and you have a limited budget then the U1 is the most cost effective option – however, this does not necessarily mean that the piano is any less favourable than the U3 because it too was created to be of the greatest sound quality possible.
Alternatively, if you do not have restrictions such as budget or space, the U3 being slightly more expensive and approximately 10cm taller in size is the perfect choice. The sound quality of this piano is of a more medium and mellow quality than the U1 and generates a deeper, smoother tone rather than the shallow tone received from the Yamaha U1. The Yamaha U3 is also commonly more popular due to its imposing appearance.
With all of that said, Richard Lawson Pianos is aware of the importance of personal preference and therefore we advise you to visit our piano showroom to discover which piano is the best fit for you, particularly if you’re learning to play – this way you have the opportunity to test our full range of Yamaha Upright Acoustic Pianos and find out which suits your needs and style best.
